Place the dough into a floured proofing basket or a mixing bowl lined with a kitchen towel. If you are baking the bread in a bread pan, place it into the greased bread pan. Leave the dough to rise for 30 minutes. 10-15 minutes into the rising time start preheating the oven to 450F/230C.
Drizzle a little water over your slices, cover with plastic wrap and warm in the microwave for 30-60 seconds. Heat a frying pan over a medium to high heat. Once warm, add a knob of butter to the pan. Once the butter has melted, add the slices of banana bread and fry on both sides until golden brown.
Gather the ingredients. You can make the bread by hand or use a stand mixer with a dough hook to speed up the process. Place the dried yeast in a small jug, add the sugar, and 1/4 cup of the lukewarm water. Stir and put to one side. Keep checking the jug and within 10 minutes, it should be bubbling and foamy. Step 3: Make the dough. Mix together the bread flour, cinnamon, cloves, and salt in a large bowl. Set aside. Add the banana, browned butter, egg, orange zest, and flour mixture into the bowl of stand mixer with proofed yeast. Mix until it’s roughly combined.
Instructions. Mix bread flour and kosher salt together in a medium sized bowl, whisking to combine and aerate. In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine water, yeast, and pinch of sugar. Leave it to sit for a moment, so that the yeast can start to eat the sugar. When frothy, add the rest of the sugar, yogurt, mashed bananas, and vanilla.
